Croydon Schools Closure Notice!
Assalamu Alaikum Wa Rahmatullahi Wa Barakatuh,
We pray to find you with great eman and health InshAllah.
Dear Parent/Guardian
What’s Happening Now?
With the ongoing and increasingly challenging situation of COVID-19, we (the School Leadership Team & Governing Board) have decided to take the necessary step of closing Al Khair schools after tomorrow, Wednesday 18th March 2020, as follows:
- – Al Khair Primary School will close tomorrow at 3pm.
- – Al Khair Secondary (boys & girls) will close tomorrow at 12:30pm.
This is due to the operational issues being caused by a high number of school staff and pupils going into social distancing/isolation.
What Happens Next?
We will use the rest of this week, Thursday and Friday, to focus upon our business contingency plan which is designed to ensure there is minimum disruption to your child’s learning going forward. The current plan moving forward is:
- – From Monday 23rd March to Friday 3rd April we will be operating teaching via our remote learning provision. We will email you details of this in due course.
- – We will then be off for the Easter holidays as originally scheduled.
- – We expect to resume as normal on Tuesday 21st April 2020.
As you can appreciate, the current situation is constantly changing and we will keep you updated as and when things change. All the above points are subject to change at short notice.
Final Points
We appreciate this is a completely unprecedented situation for us all and the above decision will cause major disruption to you all. Our aim is, and will always be, to ensure we make the right decision for our students, staff and parent communities. It is crucial that in these testing times we work together and practice the teachings of our faith to support each other through such trials and tribulations.
With this in mind, please note that we will not be making any further comments over and above this statement with regards to the decision. All the staff are currently working very hard to make the best of the situation and require your continued support.
With Regards,
Al-Khair School Leadership Team & Board of Governors
